The vessel originally known as ZIM CHICAGO is a container ship built in 2010. It measures 334 meters in length and 43 meters in beam, with a gross tonnage of 91,158 tons and a deadweight of 108,574 tons. ​

In 2021, the ship was renamed MAERSK ATHABASCA and is currently sailing under the flag of Singapore. The vessel has a total capacity of 8,440 TEU, including provisions for 1,400 refrigerated containers.
