HISTORY OF SKIBLADNER
The Skibladner was a paddle steamer that operated on Lake Mjøsa in Norway. The Skibladner was a side-hulled design, and her maiden voyage was on 2 August 1856, making her the world’s oldest steamship still in operation.
Originally intended to provide travel from the railway station at Eidsvoll to the towns of Hamar, Gjøvik, and Lillehammer along Mjøsa, it still operates the same route, but now offers leisurely scenic tours. scenic and culinary delights during the summer months.
