QUEEN ANNE’S REVENGE’S HISTORY

Queen Anne’s Revenge, also known as Queen Anne’s Revenge, is the most famous pirate ship in history, associated with the name of Edward Teach, also known by his nickname Blackbeard. Originally, the ship was named La Concorde of Saint-Malo, a French merchant ship. In November 1717, Blackbeard and his men attacked and captured the ship in the Caribbean. He then renamed the ship Queen Anne’s Revenge and made it the flagship of his notorious pirate fleet.

Queen Anne’s Revenge was a relatively large merchant ship, capable of carrying about 40 cannons and 150 crew members. The ship was armed with powerful weapons and was modified by Blackbeard to be more aggressive, spreading terror among merchant ships at sea.

In 1718, Blackbeard and the Queen Anne’s Revenge ran aground off the coast of North Carolina in a battle with the Royal Navy. He was forced to abandon the ship and flee, but was later captured and executed. The wreck of the Queen Anne’s Revenge was discovered in 1996 and is now preserved at the North Carolina Museum of History.
