ST.PAVEL

The ST.PAVEL boat, named after Saint Paul, has an intriguing history that intertwines with the Russian Navy. It was a battleship commissioned in 1911 as part of the Imperial Russian Navy’s Baltic Fleet. The ST.PAVEL played a significant role during World War I and the subsequent Russian Revolution.

During World War I, the ST.PAVEL participated in various naval engagements, including the Battle of Moon Sound, where it played a pivotal role in the defense of the Gulf of Riga. However, the ship’s career took a dramatic turn during the Russian Revolution. In 1917, following the Bolshevik uprising, the crew of the ST.PAVEL mutinied and joined the revolutionaries.

After the revolution, the ST.PAVEL continued to serve under the Red Navy and underwent several name changes. It was eventually decommissioned in the 1930s and later scrapped.

The ST.PAVEL represents a significant era in Russian naval history, marked by both its contributions during World War I and its involvement in the revolutionary events of the early 20th century.
