LA BRETAGNE’S HISTORY
La Bretagne was a French ocean liner.
- Construction: La Bretagne was built by the French shipping company Compagnie Générale Transatlantique (CGT) in the late 19th century, entering service in 1886.
- Design: The ship was known for its luxurious accommodations, elegant design, and advanced technology for its time. La Bretagne was primarily designed for transatlantic crossings between France and the United States.
- Service: La Bretagne operated as a passenger liner, offering regular services across the Atlantic, transporting passengers, cargo, and mail.
- End of Service: La Bretagne’s service as a passenger liner came to an end with the onset of World War I when many ocean liners were requisitioned for military purposes.
- Fate: After the war, La Bretagne was scrapped in 1917, marking the end of its service as a passenger liner.
