This vessel was designed and constructed by John L. Hacker, a renowned boat designer. It was produced in 1949 and later owned by Harry Greening of Canada, who gave the boat its name. MISS CANADA IV was equipped with a powerful engine, enabling the boat to achieve high speeds on the water, a crucial factor in securing victories in high-speed boat races.

MISS CANADA IV participated in the 1949 Harmsworth Cup race in Detroit, Michigan, and emerged as the winner. This victory marked a significant moment as it had been a long time since Canada had won the title. It was the first time in the history of high-speed boat racing that a Canadian boat triumphed in this competition.

Following the 1949 Harmsworth Cup victory, MISS CANADA IV became an icon in the world of high-speed boat racing and maritime sports history in Canada. After the era of high-speed water racing came to a close, this boat has been preserved and is on display in maritime sports museums, adding to the legend of high-speed boat racing.
