MAYFLOWER’S HISTORY

MAYFLOWER is a famous boat in American history. In 1620, the ship was chartered by a group of religious separatists, later known as the Pilgrims, for a voyage to the New World of America.

MAYFLOWER was a three-masted wooden ship, approximately 30 meters long, built in the city of Plymouth, England. With the purpose of seeking religious freedom and new opportunities, around 102 individuals boarded the MAYFLOWER to embark on a long and arduous journey.

The voyage of the MAYFLOWER was far from easy. The ship endured strong winds and rough seas, lasting about 66 days. Many passengers fell ill and perished during this challenging journey.

Finally, on November 11, 1620, the MAYFLOWER arrived at Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Although not reaching their original destination of Virginia, the Pilgrims decided to settle and establish the Plymouth Colony, becoming the first European immigrants in Northern America.

MAYFLOWER became a significant symbol in American history, representing resilience and dedication in the pursuit of freedom. Today, the name MAYFLOWER is still remembered and commemorated in events and historical records, representing the roots of America and the values the country upholds.
