THE INFORMATION OF LA FAYETTE HERMIONE PAINTED

L’Hermione was a French frigate launched in 1779, famous for carrying General Lafayette to America in 1780 to support the American Revolution.

The ship was equipped with 32 cannons, measured about 65 meters in length, and had a crew of over 280 sailors.

In 1793, the ship ran aground and sank off the French coast.

A replica of the ship was built starting in 1997, launched in 2014, and sailed to America in 2015 to reenact the historic voyage.
