GEORG STAGE’S HISTORY

• Origin: The Georg Stage was built in 1934 at the Nakskov Shipyard in Denmark. She was originally built as a training ship for the Danish merchant navy.
• Training ship: Named after Danish educator Georg Stage, the ship is designed to provide practical sailing experience and training for cadets and young sailors.
• Purpose: The ship’s primary mission is to provide hands-on education in seamanship, navigation and nautical skills, promoting the development of future sailors and officers.
• Activities: Stage Georg has conducted many training cruises in many international waters. It participates in tall ship races, sailing festivals and maritime events, representing Denmark and promoting maritime cultural heritage.
• Heritage: Georg Stage has earned a reputation as Denmark’s iconic ship dedicated to maritime education and training. It continues to serve as a symbol of Denmark’s commitment to preserving maritime traditions and educating new generations of seafarers.
