HISTORY OF COSTA CLASSICA

The Costa Classica is a class of cruise ship originally built and operated by Costa Cruises. They were built before Carnival Corporation & plc purchased the cruise line in 1997. [1] The first ship was built in 1991 as the Costa Classica. This was followed by a sister ship named Costa Romantica in 1993. Both ships were operated by Costa for over 20 years. As of 2021, both ships have left the fleet. The oldest ship is still in service while the newer ship has been sold for scrap.
