JAPANESE BATTLESHIP FUSO’S HISTORY

Fuso is the name of a series of warships of the Japanese Navy, of which the Fuso warship is mainly famous for participating in World War I and World War II. The Fuso warship was originally built and completed in the early 20th century.

Fuso and “comrade” Yamashiro, both of the Fuso class, were two of the first warships of the Japanese Navy equipped with six main guns in two dual turrets on both sides of the ship. These guns provide massive artillery power to ships. However, they were later upgraded and replaced by more modern weapons.

The Fuso saw combat action during World War I, but with the development of technology, the ship became outdated and needed to be upgraded to meet new requirements. During World War II, Fuso and Yamashiro participated in many campaigns, including participation in Operation Midway and other campaigns in the Pacific. However, in late October 1944, both ships were sunk by the US Navy during the Battle of Leyte Gulf in the Philippines.

The end of the Fuso and Yamashiro marked one of the final chapters in the development of traditional warships with major guns, as naval power began to rely on warships possessing aircraft and armaments higher technology gas.
