HISTORY OF HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH
HMS Queen Elizabeth (00) was a battleship of the Royal Navy, the lead ship of the Queen Elizabeth class of five ships of the Dreadnought generation. Queen Elizabeth was commissioned in January 1915 as World War I broke out. Its name was given to honor Queen Elizabeth I of England. She served in both World War I and II before being decommissioned in 1945 and scrapped in 1948.
